Last week each girl chose her favorite musher in the 2011 Iditarod. Below are pictures showing the order that the mushers are currently racing in. The first picture shows the team that is in the lead. Right now it is the girls who chose Lance Mackey.

To celebrate the running of the 39th Iditarod, students in 9-A and 9-B will participate in their own race...by reading! We have created a map of the Iditarod checkpoints and the elapsed distance at each checkpoint. The girls will move their sleds one mile for each minute they read. See you in Nome!
To wrap up International Week, several students shared stories about their families' country of origin. Some girls even brought in photographs or items relating to their families' histories.
